The Republic of South Africa is located at the southernmost tip of the African continent and has the reputation of “Rainbow Country”. In 1990, in order to seek business opportunities, Chen Haoyu’s father came to South Africa. After stabilizing in Pretoria, he took his family here to settle down. Until now, he still manages the clothing business in South Africa. Chen Haoyu was born and grew up in Pretoria, known as the “Garden City”.

There are 12 languages in South Africa, and the more commonly spoken local languages are “Afrikaans” and “IsiZulu”. In terms of academic arrangements, there are relatively big differences between South Africa and China. South Africa requires students to choose one of several African languages as a second language to learn, and there is also a special course to teach “life orientation” and learn the knowledge commonly used in life. After the first year of high school, you can choose the subject you want to study, but basic subjects and physical education are both essential. In terms of diet, because I am not picky about food, there is nothing particularly difficult to adapt to. When I returned to China for the first time, I fell in love with barbecue and hot pot, which are very suitable for my taste. But it is amazing that I have to add some spicy food when eating a lot of things here, so I have become more and more interested in eating spicy food. Chinese students may not know much about South Africa. The most obvious characteristic of South Africans is that they are particularly loving nature. What everyone is most curious about is whether we really interact directly with wild animals in South Africa. I would joke to my classmates, “When I was in class, I rode my long-necked deer and elephant.” This is because we all love nature and are easy to get in touch with wild animals in our daily lives. I used to have a small zoo in my school. But South Africa is actually a relatively modern country with rich mineral resources. I personally think the most interesting natural attractions in South Africa are the Kruger (Kruger) National Park. This is the largest wildlife park in South Africa and one of the largest nature reserves in Africa. It has a large number of wild animals inhabited here. The climate in the places I live so far is relatively warm, so I also want to experience the cold environment.
